May 8, 2016 The God who Comforts!

Our text is Isaiah 66:10-17 (v.13) and it says that God comforts as a mother does a child. Israel is being encouraged that Cyrus will let them go home but first they must go into captivity.
Isaiah predicts the fall of Jerusalem but His words are comfort for the faithful who will suffer because of the sin of the nation. God says about himself that He can nurture them as a mother does a child. He is compassionate, sacrificial, and comforting toward His children. The Mother’s day is a great time to remember this. He is the God of all comfort, bring consolation and words of encouragement.
